- Head size is about 1 to 1⅜ inches on a 2 × 2 in frame (half to two-thirds of the height).
- Use a plain white or light-coloured background with no shadows.

Questions
Do I need a printed photo for the Indian e-Visa?
No. The e-Visa is entirely online — you upload a digital portrait and a PDF scan of your passport bio page. No prints are mailed.
What is the passport page upload size for an Indian e-Visa?
The bio-page scan is a separate PDF between 10 KB and 300 KB. Don’t confuse it with the portrait JPEG.
Why was my Indian e-Visa photo rejected?
Common causes are a non-square image, glasses, a dark or patterned background, and a head that is too small or cut off at the top.
